Gateway Classic Cars of Charlotte is proud to digitally present
this 1948 Willys CJ2A. From 1941 to 1945, Willys produced the MB
model, the original go-anywhere, do-anything vehicle, which came to
be known by its nickname, "Jeep," and was made famous during WWII.
Just after the end of World War II, Willys motors had to figure out
what to do with the parts that were intended for jeeps that were no
longer needed for the war effort. The CJ-2A looked like a
civilianized MB with a tailgate and side-mounted spare tire. One
significant difference between the MB and the CJ-2A can be found by
looking at the grilles of the two vehicles. The MB had recessed
headlights and nine-slot grilles, while the CJ2A had larger
headlights flush-mounted in a seven-slot grille.This little 4x4 is
just as cool as it is capable.
