Engine & Drivetrain
In 1969, the Z28 Camaro had a several things that set it apart from
your average Camaro. First and foremost it has the coveted original
Z28 302 cubic inch DZ engine that was underrated at 290 horsepower
@ only 5800 rpm, even though it would rev to over 7,000!
The certification notes states this is the original engine and it
does have the correct VIN & Date on Transmission, with the Engine
cast 04-69, Engine built 05-69, Z28 built 05-69, and the Engine
Stamped N640583 the VIN of Camaro.
The engine looks like a time capsule with the correct factory
intake, Holley carb, air cleaner and decals, finned aluminum valve
covers, exhaust manifolds, and most other items all in the factory
looking engine compartment including the smog pump system.
Other factors that this Z28 Camaro has is the factory correct Power
Front Disc Brakes, dual exhaust, and the Muncie 4-speed
transmission that launches this car through the gears and keeps the
rubber on the road with a Positraction 12 bolt rear end.
Underneath it is super clean and our Camaro rides on reproduction
Firestone Wide Oval raised white letter tires and 15-inch Rally
Wheels.
Interior
Our Z28 has a correct Code #723 Midnight Green standard bucket seat
interior with green carpet that features the original and verified
seat covers, head rests, and foam on the twin front bucket seats
and matching rear seat, factory dash with the Z28 gauges including
the factory 120 mph Speedometer, Tach, and clock, Center Console
with the chrome 4-speed shifter and original chrome shifter ball,
pushbutton radio, and the optional console gauge cluster, wood
grain trim, all of which gives the interior a classy look with an
awesome cockpit.
It retains green carpet and floor mats, matching door panels, and
seatbelts too.
Exterior
The Trim Tag verifies this 1969 Z28 was painted at the factory
wrapped in a beautiful shade of
Fathom Green paint. The paint is great with its shine and shows off
the iconic body lines, the great Z/28 parts including a cowl
induction hood, Z28 badging and dual white Z28 racing stripes,
front air dam, rear ducktail spoiler, as well as the finished
trunk.
