International Harvester began building trucks and pickups in 1907.
In the late 1950s they began to design a competitor for the
two-door Jeep CJ 4x4. The 1961 model year Scout 80 made its debut
in late 1960. The Scout II was produced in Fort Wayne, Indiana from
1971 to 1980. Revered by many for its utility, ease of use,
reliability and great looks, the Scout II has a loyal cult
following as an enthusiast and recreational automobile. This
example has been known to Autosport Designs for many years,
originating in Idaho before coming to the east coast and being sold
to a long-term client and friend of the dealership.
This IH Scout II is the ultimate beach, lake house, or countryside
cruiser. Passengers enjoy modern amenities such as air conditioning
and a custom Kenwood surround sound stereo system while retaining
that open-air, vintage truck thrill. It has been maintained
regardless of use and kept on the ready for any adventure that
awaits it, done in comfort and style.
This professionally restored, turnkey Scout II is ready for
immediate use and enjoyment. A recent road test attests to its
excellent mechanical condition, comfortable driving experience and
ease of use.
