Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1997 Lexus LX450 (this is
the Lexus version of the Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80). Finished in
black over oak leather interior, this LX450 / J80 has seen a host
of desirable upgrades including a heavy duty winch bumper with
auxiliary lighting, a 9,000 lb winch and an Ironman 2-inch
suspension lift. It's a great looking-truck without any rust issues
to note (floors and rockers are excellent) but the black paint has
started to fade, especially on the hood and upper portions of the
body panels. Bumpers, body cladding, fender flares and running
boards are all in excellent condition. Factory 16-inch wheels are
wearing 295/75R16 Toyo all-terrrain tires with 2020 date codes (the
tire size is equivalent to 33.4x11.6 inches). New headlight
assemblies are crystal clear (astute observers will note the grille
is a Toyota unit, not Lexus, because the Lexus-specific lights
could not be sourced - the fit is perfect).
The LX450 was available with one interior - "oak" leather, which
you see here. This truck retains a very nice dash, steering wheel,
door panels, carpets and headliner. Front seats are showing some
wear (especially the driver's seat) and are fitted with attractive
covers. The leather on the rear seats and third row seats remains
in good original condition. All gauges, lights, switches and
indicators are working as they should and the A/C blows cold. The
factory head unit has been replaced with a Pioneer AVH-210EX
touch-screen for modern functionality (including a backup camera).
The only other deviation from stock is the addition of a custom
3D-printed cupholder on the center console to the right of the
shifter.
The 4.5L 1FZ-FE 24-valve straight six under the hood is an
excellent powerplant and a nice upgrade in performance over the
older 3F from the FJ80. It's mated to a smooth-shifting overdrive
automatic transmission. Service under present ownership includes
all new exhaust, tune up with new plugs and wires, fuel filter,
radiator, thermostat, belts, hoses, tie rod ends, rebuilt front
birfield axles, rebuilt front brakes, plus other routine
maintenance. Very dry underneath with no significant leaks to note.
Runs and drives great with all systems working as they should.
Under present enthusiast ownership since 2020, this Land Cruiser
has been used as a nice weather weekend driver including family
trips to the Outer Banks and rescuing friends stuck in the mud in
less capable trucks. It's mechanically well sorted, and with fewer
than 200,000 miles has lots of life left in it for subsequent
owners.
