Vehicle Description
Looking for your dream car? Maybe you found it in this 2002 Aston
Martin DB7 Dream Car Super Edition. This example was made in Aston
Martin's Bloxham, England factory in June 2002. This is one of
4,156 DB7 coupe and volante examples made between 1999 and 2003.
Clean AutoCheck report showing a score of 81 with same OK owner
since 2016 showing just 42,000 miles. It is one of only a handful
to come with a manual 6-speed transmission.
Dressed in custom blue with a black carbon fiber offset stripe and
a yellow pinstripe, the car's paint and trim are in overall
excellent order. Front valance has some chips that have been
touched up. The bodywork is straight and solid and the body-colored
bumpers fit tightly to the body. The engine bay is tidy and has
tinted taillights.
This DB7 rolls on Ohtsu radials, size 235/30ZR20 in front and
235/25ZR20 in rear. Each tire is mounted to a Merceli five-spoke
alloy wheels. The tires and wheels are all in very good
condition.
Under its front-hinged hood resides a 5.9L 48-valve, DOHC V-12
engine with sequential multi-port fuel injection and breathing via
Gibson dual exhausts. This motor is mated to a Tremec T-56
six-speed manual transmission. Driver convenience features include
air-conditioning, power windows, power locks, rear window
defroster, power-adjustable and heated seats, pushbutton start and
power sideview mirrors.
Safety equipment includes dual front airbags and four-wheel disc
brakes with anti-lock, including cross-drilled rotors.
Inside, there are blue leather seats with yellow stitching -
buckets in front and demi-buckets in back. The matching carpet is
in similar condition. A three-spoke steering wheel looks great, as
do the headliner and dashboard. Driver side window switch works,
but is finicky and works in up and down intervals. The inner door
panels appear fresh, as do the center console and console-mounted
shifter. A Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo with CD player resides in the
dash along with Aston Martin premium audio and a subwoofer.
In 1999, the more powerful DB7 V12 Vantage was introduced at the
Geneva Motor Show. Its 5.9-litre, 48-valve, DOHC Aston Martin V12
engine has a compression ratio of 10.3:1. Two transmission choices
were available, those being a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual or a ZF
5HP30 five-speed automatic. Aesthetic differences from the
straight-six DB7 include different wing mirrors and large fog lamps
under the headlamps along with "DB7 Vantage" badging at the
rear.
Competition to this Aston Martin in 2002 included Chevrolet's
Corvette, Dodge's Viper, Ferrari's 360 Modena, Maserati's Coupe GT,
Porsche's 911 GT2 and Saleen's S281.
Documentation includes the original owner's manual.
