This 2016 Porsche 911 R is #346 of 991 examples manufactured during a single model year and was ordered by the seller through the 918 Spyder VIP program via Hendrick Porsche of Charlotte, North Carolina. It was delivered to the seller at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta Georgia in September 2016 and now has less than 1,900 miles. The car is finished in white with red stripes over black and Tarpan Brown leather with houndstooth cloth inserts, and power comes from a 4.0-liter flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle. Features include 20” high-gloss black center-lock wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes with yellow calipers, a single-mass flywheel with a reinforced clutch, a 23.9-gallon fuel tank, a front axle lift system, black LED headlights with dynamic leveling, carbon-fiber mirror caps, the Sport Chrono Package, a leather-trimmed dashboard and door panels, and illuminated carbon-fiber door sills. A four-year service was performed by Porsche of Greenville, South Carolina, in September 2021. This 911 R is now offered in South Carolina with original order paperwork, a window sticker, factory books, keys, service records and factory cover. PPF has been applied to the front bumper, hood and fenders.
The 911 R was a limited-production variant developed in the spirit of the 1967 homologation special of the same name. Styling was based on that of the contemporary 911 GT3, with construction elements borrowed from the GT3 RS including a magnesium roof panel and a carbon-fiber hood. The model also featured a carbon-fiber deck lid and front fenders, a model-specific front splitter, a rear underbody splitter, a retractable spoiler, and an aluminum grille. This example is finished in white with red center stripes and black side stripes with red Porsche script.
Carbon-fiber-backed bucket seats are upholstered in Tarpan Brown leather with silver stitching and houndstooth cloth inserts. The dashboard and door panels are trimmed in black leather, while carbon fiber accents the dash, door panels, and center console. Additional features include automatic climate control, power seat height adjustment, the Sport Chrono Package, PCM with navigation, satellite radio, the Light Design Package, a fire extinguisher, and illuminated carbon-fiber sill guards that were replaced in September 2021. An aluminum dash plaque denotes the car as #346 of 991 examples built.
The center-lock 20” wheels are finished in high-gloss black and wear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires with 2016 date codes measuring 245/35 up front and 305/30 out back. Adjustable suspension underpinnings and rear-axle steering were shared with the contemporary GT3 but were specially tuned for the 911 R. A front axle-lift system was also optioned. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes with yellow six- and four-piston monobloc calipers were standard on the 911 R. Fresh brake fluid was added in September 2021.
The naturally aspirated 4.0L flat-six was shared with the contemporary GT3 RS and was factory rated at 500 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 338 lb-ft of torque at 6,250 rpm. A four-year service performed by Porsche of Greenville in September 2021 included new spark plugs, an oil and filter change, and a replacement air filter.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a mechanical limited-slip differential. A single-mass flywheel and a reinforced 9” clutch were optioned from the factory along with a 23.9-gallon fuel tank. The 911R shares its titanium exhaust system with the contemporary GT3 RS.
Original order paperwork, factory books, keys, service records, a model of the car, and a window sticker listing a total price of $217,110 are included in the sale
