Do you deliberate this may be covered by my home owners's insurance?
Please. advise.
Answers: Yep...usually broken pipes or water leak on the inside of your house that cause damage are covered lower than home owners policies. It's not flood damage due to bad weather...so contact your agent or claims number to own them send out an adjuster.
You should call them and ask, you could be covered..
Our Hot dampen tank broke and flooded the house. We called a runner company to come out right away and they had advised us to telephone the Homeowners Ins and file for a claim. All went all right and yes all was covered. I be afraid to call as I thought we would get a bleak mark on us so I was not going to bid.how silly. Our ins didn't even go up after that. Then about a year following, the roof blew off and heavy rain came in the house. The Ins replaced the roof, and took comfort of drying the carpeting. We had already replaced 1000 sq ft of carpet next to good old rainproof ceramic floor tile.Thank Goodness. As that was an assured clean.
However, if there is common upkeep to the home that has not been done they find that and deny claims. Been in attendance too. One day while talking to my Dad on the phone I hear pinging and small breaking noises. I went to the sink and watch as the porcelain was popping off the sink and breaking when it hit the counter or into the sink. My Dad said that happen if the structure underneath becomes weak from a small trickle, or structure is being undermined somehow. So he sais to call the Insurance Co. I did...I told them the truth as to what I experienced. They said I could phone call the manufacture of the sink and geta replacement as it is a ill manufactured sink and that wouldn't go down into a viable claim. I said Oh. She told me if I had dropped a big heavy tub on the sink and that caused the problem, then yes it would be covered. So beings I am honest.we couldn't acquire a replacement via the Insurance.
We remoldeled the kitchen a few years later and I got a unknown sink afterall.
